Mantra: Literal & Figurative Considerations (& A Bit About Shiva)
Mantra from the Hindu tradition can be considered as both literal acts of devotion as well as figurative tools to help address personal and social change. It really depends on one’s point of view and inclination with respect to Religious Relativity.
Mantra and lore which pertain to the god Shiva (also known as Nataraja – the Lord of the Dance) exemplify this. Watch this video to learn more!
Mantra, Mind, Metaphor (& a Bit About Kali)
Mantra is a means to help train one’s mind. It’s deeply explored within the Hinduism Tradition – though the practice is open and available to people of all traditions (religious or otherwise) with the ability to think beyond religious blinders. As noted in Mantra Matters, Sanskrit mantra often uses psychological principles and archetypes (expressed as deities and gods) to help bring about a specific outcome in the mind. Sanskrit mantra can be metaphorical or devotional in its application.
Mantras about the Goddess Kali are one example.
Qigong, Resilience, Survival
Qigong (a Chinese mind/body system) provides one with a type of strength to weather personal challenges and find mastery in spite of perceived difficulty. There are many forms of qigong – all of which are designed to help one develop and heal themselves physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
Given that qigong facilitates personal resilience, it can also be one way to help survive the forthcoming spiritual storm that Daniel prophesied in the Abrahamic Religious Tradition (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam). While there are some Abrahamic adherents who believe they will somehow escape this storm (i.e. a ‘rapture’), evidence suggests that a group of people (the saints) will be ‘worn out’ by a man who the New Testament calls the antichrist.
Faith might give you eternal hope, but you will have to physically contend with the antichrist’s wile’s if you happen to be one of the end-times saints. Qigong can help give you the strength to not be worn out during these very trying times.
Noahide Laws, Juadism, and Your Future
One thing to note in the coming years is that there is a GREAT MOVEMENT to centralize World governance and Religion in the City of Jerusalem using a so-called “Judeo-Christian” framework. One of the goals of this movement is to regulate behavior and beliefs by enforcing the “Noahide” laws that are said to have been given to Noah after the flood …but before the giving of the full Torah laws to Moses after the Exodus.
The Bible use trees as a metaphor to explain the behavior of men and nations. I see trees walking as men. Do you?
